I have 2 boys, they are 2 and 4 and we have our third boy due in 3 months. Lately they have been playing a lot with their "baby doll sized" dinosaurs and calling them babies and putting diapers on them and putting them to bed and giving them blankets and lovey's. The older one has gotten more into it. This was COMPLETELY unprompted at all by me! So my mom is going to make them "babies" I think it would be fun for them to have them ones especially with a new baby in the house. I don't want to go over the top with the dolls since I truly believe they will be nice toys that will be played with but it will be more of a passing thing. This is not going to be a long lasting intense obsession like the trains are So I was thinking of 12 inch heavy babies:

Or possibly 16 inch button joined ones:

what do you think?

Thanks!

Ashley, Jesus loving mama to Jaden (8) Trace (6) and Liam (3) and fost/adopt twins Talia and Oliva (1).  Happily married for a decade!

after reading a few more posts, I think I will do the 12 inch heavy baby for DS age 4 and a simple Nicki baby for DS age 2

Does that sound like a good idea????

I made a Little Baby for ds2 (age 2) for Christmas and he adores it. The velour outfit is sooo soft and cuddly, and the weighted aspect of them is really neat.

A happy woman

Those are all so cute and sweet.
This isn't quite as nice, but turned out to be a hit and a great way to recycle socks. http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Sock-Doll I painted on all of the features including the hair, and made a gown from some leftover fabric I had after making another outfit. DS likes that it matches his outfit somedays.

I'm a slow sewer, but it only took me 1hr from start to finish to make this doll. I don't have a pic to post, sorry.

The link doesn't seem to be keeping, so here's the web address.  http://mommasewingprojects.blogspot.com/
