Hi! Just found out I'm expecting #2 and admittedly I didn't "prepare" as much for #1 as I wished I had after the fact.
I'm interested in hiring an (experienced, certified) doula, finding someone to do placenta encapsulation (that has experience working with my hospital and can help me through the process), and finding a lactation consultant to come to the house post-birth (I had one last time that was ok but she was a little intense for me).
I deliver at Vanderbilt, if that helps. Not due until the end of the year but I'm a planner, so any suggestions are much appreciated!
Nashville Birth Network has a good list of birth professionals. It's a good starting point. Also, if you're on facebook, you can inquire for referrals from the Nashville Birth Network group or the ICAN of Nashville page. :)
ICAN of Nashville
I've been a birth Doula for over ten years and have done many births at Vanderbilt. I can also refer you to ladies who provide the other services you are looking for.
