Just a reminder that this Saturday May 9th we will have our May ICAN of Baltimore meeting at 10:30 a.m. The meeting topic is "Postpartum Mood Disorders" and will feature mental health professional Holly Wade, MA, ATR. Ms. Wade has prepared a presentation for us and we will have plenty of time for questions regarding this very important topic. Recommended not only for birthing women but also for those who are close to us and who need to be aware of the signs and symptoms that we may be suffering during the postpartum period. American College of Nurse Midwives CEU credits have been applied for and, if approved, will allow DONA doulas to earn CEUs for attending as well. ALACE proof of attendance will be provided upon request. This will be our last ICAN meeting for the summer as we take a break until September.
We have also had a lot of chapter births recently and so will take time to share some birth stories as well. Please note: Your chapter leader is chemically sensitive. Please do not wear any perfume/cologne/body spray or other scented body products including essential oils to the meetings. In order to find out what things you can safely use, please see the meetings page of our website. Thanks for understanding.
The meeting location will be:
St. Anthony of Padua Church
(rear entrance, drive around back and look for ICAN signs posted before the start time)
4414 Frankford Ave
Baltimore, MD 21206
Please bring a simple snack to share to help keep the kiddies busy and the pregnant women fed. ICAN meetings are free and open to everyone. You don't have to have had a cesarean (or any birth yet for that matter) in order to attend. Spouses and children welcome as well.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
