"Thud."
"Oh my God."

She's fine - she apparently landed on her feet, but the fact is that my relatively senseless one year-old can climb out of her crib. We've come up with a solution to get it even lower for a while, but I don't expect it to last.

What tips do you have for a one year-old who is very, very active, into everything - and is sleeping on a toddler bed? Or is it better just to put the mattress on the floor? What are the things to look out for, safety-wise? (Other than removing the chisels & hammers from the room...just kidding. Really!)

We do the mattress on the floor. We started when DS was 8 months or so, and it works pretty good for us. He is also very active, and his room is babyproofed. I've learned to live with his clean clothes and diapers strewn about the room, which was the only problem we had.
