I'm no expert, but my basic understanding is that the more cells, the "better" (that said, my DD is the result of a transfer of both a 5-cell and a 6-cell :)

While an 8-cell is "textbook" for a 3dt, a 10-cell could be perfectly on target depending on what time of day it was on day 3. If it was 75 hours instead of 72, for example, that embie could be exactly where it's supposed to be at 10-cells instead of 8 because they do keep dividing and growing, or, it could just be a fast grower. I've transferred day 3 embies that were anywhere from 4- to 9-cells and have had positive betas from different staged embies.

Thanks for the clarification! Everything I read kept talking about 8 cells on day 3 transfers.

I'm still trying to figure out how I'm going to get through this next week of waiting

One very slow minute at a time.. sigh... I took most of the time between transfer and beta off work, and I watched a LOT of movies. The Lord of the Rings trilogy takes up a lot of time...

Best of luck - all fingers crossed for you!
