As far as midwives, I've heard great things about Jessica (from website above) and I personally recommend Anne Margolis in Suffern, NY about 20 min away (imamidwives.com).

We use a great pediatrician in Nyack, which is a bit farther, buit worth it. I am in Chester NY (Orange County, where Warwick is) and we trek 40 min to get to him. Kenneth Zatz.

Dr. Howard Werfel is an AMAZING chiropractor, also in Suffern, NY. www.rocklandchiropractic.com. He's great with children and pregnancy.

Not sure about the NJ side of things as we don't get out there often, except to say that it's all farms and very beautiful. Warwick is also beautiful. It's very artsy, neat shopping (though some places are expensive), has a few great yoga studios, organic farms and CSA's, a sweet Farmers Market on Sundays. There's a great artists community called Sugar Loaf nearby, which is a wondeful little craft town. The only downside is that it's pretty far from everything and you can only get there by back roads, which can get ugly if you're commuting. Honestly, that wouldn't bother me as much since I grew up in a town like that where everything was 1/2 hour or more away.

You can find out a lot by going to hvnet.com or warwickinfo.net
hope that helps!

I moved to West Milford/Warwick area over the fall, and am still looking to find my niche (breast feeding past one year, pick your baby up when s/he cries, moms who are up on vaccine and health issues, etc.). I'm looking for peers for my newly-turned 3 year old, maybe a weekly playgroup that's started or could be started? I also have a one year old who loves being around other kids.
