dd woke up at 11:30 and barfed (just breastmilk) then she was fine, having fun playing. at 12:30 i get her some food and she follows me to go eat when she starts to barf some more (again, just breastmilk) so i don't feed her and start giving her ice cubes and water. well, she's ready for a nap i lay her down and start to breastfeed her. she's just about to sleep when she goes to roll over on her tummy... she starts to barf again. (all the breastmilk she just drank)

she has not had a flu shot yet.... she doesn't have a temp. or is this just a stumoch bug. i have a newborn and he seems to be just fine. besides the thrush i just noticed today. any advice or thoughts on what this might be and what i should do.

I think it's probably the flu bug that's been going around. And if it makes you feel any better - ds2 had the flu shot and STILL got it.

Continue breastfeeding on demand. If she's hungry, you might try offering "bland" foods like saltine crackers and bits of toast. You can also try giving tiny sips of white grape juice every few minutes or room temperature ginger ale. Watch for dehyration, of course, but chances are a few more pukes and another day and she'll be just fine.

I had this page from Dr. Sear's website bookmarked because my dd was throwing up a few weeks ago. Based on it, I doubt your dd has a stomach virus because that involves fever and diarrhea. Any chance she ate something bad? Well, either way, I do hope she feels better very soon. Good luck!

My whole family had this right after Christmas. Some threw up once (me, my sister, my one neice), some threw up multiple times (DD, my BIL, my other neice), and those that didn't throw up got diarrhea (DH). There where no fevers and it passed w/ in 24 hours.

My 14 month old just went through the same thing. It started with just puking but by the next day he had diarrhea as well. He acted fine in between puke sessions. We just kept an eye on his hydration, and offered to nurse him often. He recovered in a few days and now he is almost 100%, although his poops are still a little off. The worst part is that he passed it to me, dh, and MIL and we were all out of commission for a few days with the worst stomach bug I have ever experienced, so be careful and wash your hands a LOT!
