My 2-year-old DS was diagnosed last week with pneumonia that seemed to come on after a prolonged upper respiratory infection...I am unsure if it is viral pneumonia or mycoplasma pneumonia. He had this upper respiratory infection for over a month, symptoms just being a runny nose and slight cough, then suddenly got a 102.5 fever and was diagnosed with pneumonia via chest-x-ray on Thursday.

I had a sore throat yesterday and today feel like I have a bad head cold. DH has the same symptoms as me but also has a cough and a temperature of 100 degrees. I have no fever or cough...yet (KNOCK WOOD!).

Besides pumping myself full of sodium ascorbate and taking my daily cod liver oil/butter oil combo, is there ANYTHING I can do to keep this from developing into pneumonia? I am scared of what it would mean for the baby if I was to develop pneumonia. Thanks!

as I understand it--and standing by to see if I'm wrong

pneumonia isn't contagious...what would be pneumonia on someone with a weak immune system (you prego might be a weaker immune system) could be a simple viral cold infection to someone else.

anxious to see if I'm wrong since my son had viral pneumonia 2 weeks ago--dd has the same thing this week (fever and cough, etc) and I hadn't even thought or worried about me getting sick in the slightest...I may be wrong..
