No questions or suggestions here. We just got back from a camping trip that we ONLY used cloth diapers the entire time!! This is a first for us and I am very proud!! I had a lot of family that was shrugging their shoulders and asking why. But all in all it worked out VERY well. We mostly used prefold and snappi's. It was a short trip, but a victory nonetheless.

Our next trip is much longer (at least a week) and we plan to use flat/no fold diapers and wash and reuse them.

Yay for you! We just went camping (long weekend) and I used cloth the whole time. I *think* we only own one sposie anyway in dh's truck glove compartment for emergencies......

I have one of those zippered bags from Des at www.mamaessentials.com and it worked out fine. I plan on bringing a bucket for soaking poopie dipes outside when we plan on camping for longer stays.

That's Great! I love camping and of course we always do cloth for all our trips. If I had to go over a week without washing though then I'd be in trouble. My only solution is to either invest in or sew more cloth diapers (maybe just cheap prefolds) or buy some of those earth friendly disposables for emergency... I'd buy/sew more before getting the disposables!

Christi,
I would suggest bringing every diaper you have and using them with covers to make each one last a little longer (normally we go coverless...but not on vacation). I would also suggest (since you do this often) to switching to flat/no fold diapers. You can buy or make 36 for super cheap. They are easy to wash and get much cleaner than prefold would if you are washing in a bucket. If you have 2 buckets (one for soap and one for clean water) and you had 36 or more flats you could potentially wash only once during the trip. We have a 1 week vacation coming up and that is what we are planning to do....take tons of flats!

I don't know why all of this camping/diapering is making me so excited. Maybe because it is combining two of my favorite things!!!!

Do you think it is possible to clean fuzzi bunz effectively in a bucket? That is usually what we use for the nighttime. I'd like to stick with it but we only have a couple of FBs. Maybe I will try to wash one in the backyard (just to test my washing abilities).
