Hopefully these questions are UNrelated.

First off, I have been noticing that I am having quite a few bowel movements in the past week (around 5-6 a day). I am not straining nor is it diarrhea-like. It is quite normal looking in color and texture (I know, TMI!) Also the size and amount of bm is normal. I haven’t changed my diet or anything. Any one have any ideas as to why I would be having bm's more often then I am used to? (BTW: normal amount is about every other day for me)

Secondly, I have also been noticing that my vagina has had more of a smell lately. This isn’t an unpleasant smell; in fact it is the smell I sometimes smell when I am on my period. But I am on CD 24 of a usually 31 day cycle; therefore that most likely is not the cause. In fact the smell is so noticeable to other people my dh even asked me about it while sitting about 3 feet away from each other, with my pants on! I don’t have any discharge or itching. Or anything else that might point to infection of any sort. Any ideas, ladies?

Thanks for reading my novel about my body and its fun "escapades" this week. TIA for any help you might give me or even commiserating on the smelly vagina!

For the BMs, are you drinking more water? Accidentally eating a higher proportion of veggies, fiber, or a bit more food in general? Anyway the more frequently you poop the healthier you are, generally, as long as it isn't into the diahrea (sp) range!

For the smell, I have no clue, since your diet hasn't changed. Uh, any hormonal shifts? (And how would one tell?)

You could try rinsing it in diluted vinegar just in case. That might just replace one smell with another though

Going 5-6x a day means your body is trying to get rid of something.

Going every other day is not healthy either. It will lead to growth of yeast/bad bacteria and could be the cause of what you are experiencing now.

Maybe you were very "backed up"? What is the intestines, like 30 feet long? Have you been bloated going every other day?

Also with the vaginal smell I would say you have a yeast/bacteria problem... which can mean your intestinal flora is unbalanced.

Does your pee smell different, strong? This can also indicate a yeast/bacterial problem as they produce metabolites (organic acids detected in an OAT test) excreted thru the urine.

I would first start acidophilus (enclosed in gelatin caps) inserted into vagina 2x day, as well as a large amount of probiotics by mouth, preferably homemade yogurt with multiple strains or kefir.

Acidophilus in the vagina is nature's design to colonize the mucus lining and produce hydrogen peroxide and an acidic ph which keeps it clean and fights infection.
