my25 month old is learning to use the potty and today she took the tray out and walked up to me with it and said "mama i took a sh#t"
i didnt know what to say.. i was proud of her for going in the potty and didnt want to ruin her happiness, she was so proud and i just let the swear slide and helped her clean it out and put it back... but what should i say next time, her gramma sure would be surprised to hear it, if she was over, actually i would like to see the expression on her face...

I think the main thing is to not make a big deal out of it. If you tell her not to use that word, it just gives that word more power.

When she says, "Mama, I took a sh#t" you could just say back, enthusiastically: "You went poopoo in the potty!"

I think you handled it well.
