Hi ladies,

I remember at 15-18 months, DD tended to nurse a lot more than usual, and I read somewhere that this is normal. It's a big developmental time, etc.

We are now at just past 2 years (6/5), and we are doing it again! Is this another "big nursing" time, in your experience?

Learning that it was normal last time helped me through it, and I'm hoping that if I hear someone say it's "normal" again, I will be helped again too.

Also, are there any other times that are "more nursing" stages that I should be prepared for?

THANK YOU!

I have gone through it with both DD's right at 2yo, too. I think with DD2, particularly, it has been more about comfort nursing. As she has gained more confidence and independence, she has wanted to nurse more. I think it is to feel like she is still very connected to me. kwim This is especially true when we are in public.

That makes a lot of sense. She has been a bit more "clingy" lately too - perfectly happy to play on her own or with others, but every so often needing reassurance that I am still around. The extra nursing is probably an extension of that.

Thanks for the response!
