I'm in my 22nd week and just had a midwife appointment yesterday.

Went on the scale and I haven't gained any weight in the past four weeks!! I was so shocked b/c I have been eating really well. I thought for sure when I stepped on that scale I would be 5 pounds heavier.

My baby is growing, as I am measuring a couple weeks ahead of 22 weeks.

The midwife didn't seem concerned, should I be worried?

As long as the baby is growing I would not be worried.

Weight gain need not be consistent- so long as you feel well, baby is fine, don't fret too much over matching with textbook statistics!!
Take care!!

I didn't gain any weight around the same time. And I had been averaging exactly 5 lbs every month before and after. Like Sheena said, as long as baby is growing I wouldn't be worried. As long as you know you've been eating right and the midwife isn't worried you are all right. Believe me, with midwives wanting to keep us low-risk, they'd be the first to let you know if you needed to do something

I wouldn't worry. With both my pregnancies, I didn't gain much at all, (or lost in the first tri--and no morning sickness) each month until the end of the 2nd trimester. It would be less than a pound a month and then blammo!--all of the sudden 6 pounds in a month at week 24. I think that's just how I gain. With my dd, then, I lost weight at the end. She was a healthy 8lb. 12oz. baby. Perhaps your like me, and you'll be surprised at your next appointment by a bigger jump.

I had actually lost weight from my previous appointment at my 22 week appointment -- my Dr was not concerned as the baby was growing fine -- besides, I started out carrying alot of weight around pre-pregnancy. I just consider myself to be "sharing" with the babe!!!

Don't worry! Especially if the midwife isn't worried.

If you were a little larger pre-pg, you might not gain alot. I joke that for me pg is the ultimate weight loss program.... I'm 28.5 weeks and am currently 15 lbs below my pre-pg weight. I'm "sharing" too.

I wasn't overweight when I got pregnant. I guess the baby is taking it all in.
