I was absolutely shocked.
I brought me the box and wanted me to open it, and I did because I figured he was going to put them in and out of the box (fun 2-year old activity, right?) But no, he took one out, struck it, and lit it!!! I screeched and blew it out, of course, but it really shook both of us up. He cried, and we had a long nursing session.

I just didn't realize that was something he could possibly do...I mean, the kid doesn't even walk up or down stairs without me holding his hand...

Henry did that too, a few months ago right at that age. I am usually very careful about keeping that kind of thing put way far away, but I left the box out by my candle in the bathroom. Thank goodness I was brushing my teeth right next to him...I just saw this bright flareup in his hands and it was shocking. Taught me a great lesson.
