DS1 has been daytime potty-training since nov. things seemed to be pretty much wrapped up, then recently he's totally regressed and seems to be making a power struggle out of it. he will wait, and wait, and wait, until he has an "accident". our first clue that he needs to go is that he starts running around a lot, and yelling over nothing, trying to hold it in. if we tell him to go to the potty he refuses, and i literally have to take him there and put him on it or he will not go. (i have gotten him to go a couple times by threatening time-outs, but i don't like doing that because he is obviously going to have to go potty first, and then get a time-out?) i have a 10mo, so i can't always drop everything and take him into the bathroom, plus i'm kind of worried that doing this has encouraged him to refuse the potty. also, he is now trying harder to hide his need to go - sometimes he pees in his clothes and on the floor, then takes his clothes off and throws them in the bathtub and goes about his business quietly as if nothing has happened. so fun to find pee with your foot - not! i don't think it's a matter of not wanting to leave another activity - he will do this when he's bored out of his gourd with watching me pull weeds in the yard. also, we never have a problem when we are out at a park or store.

after i've taken him to the potty or he's peed in his clothes the next struggle becomes getting him dressed again. he refuses to go get new clothes for himself, or to put his clothes back on if they are dry.

i've tried backing off and going back to diapers, but he has really sensitive skin and it seems to have gotten worse since his body is now used to underwear. i really would welcome any suggestions.
