any advice for me?

Aidan is 3 1/2 weeks old, and is a great sleeper. . .during the day. He will sleep for 3-4 hours at a time during the day, but is up every 1 1/2 hours (sometimes more frequently) at night. Thankfully he isn't up crying, just up to nurse. It wouldn't be *too* bad, except that we haven't completely mastered side lying nursing (I know what I'm doing - but sometimes just refuses to do it) and that sometimes he'll just have an alert period for a couple of hours in the middle of the night. Also, I can't nap during the day, because I'm alone with my 2yo dd and 4yo ds1. More back ground is that he was also 3 1/2 weeks early (yesterday was his due date).

Here is what I'm trying that doesn't seem to be working - waking him during the day. He will sleep through anything, even being stripped down, having his diaper changed, being poked and prodded by big brother and sister, being passed around from one person to the next, etc etc etc. It doesn't seem to matter if I have him sleep in the living room or the bedroom, wear him all day or leave him to sleep in his moses basket. I've tried both co sleeping and semi-apart sleeping (meaning, in the bassinet next to the bed), and it doesn't help.

Any more ideas? I'm dying here of sleep deprivation! help!
