We're on day 2.5, now, and she is still covered with spots. I have to give her benadryl about every 6 hours to keep the itching at bay.

We suspect a nickel allergy. Well, I know she's allergic to nickel, but she's only had contact dermatits before. But the other day she was wearing a necklace and I saw she was sucking on part of it. : She knows she shouldn't put anything metallic in her mouth, sans eating utensils. But she must have forgot.

Anyway, I'm thinking she sucked on it long enough to get it into her system - much like a food allergy - and had a full-blown reaction.

How long do you think I should wait for this to resolve before I try something else or explore other possible allergens? I'm allergic to shellfish, and after one tiny bit of shrimp tail I had to take benadryl almost non-stop for over a week. Is that okay to do for my daughter?

Any ideas or feedback?

TIA!
