Lately my 38 month old won't let go of anything. When we eat, he refuses to throw out the leftovers, he demands we bring everything home from restaurants, he won't let me flush the toilet, he freaks when the trash man comes, he even got upset when I cleaned out my car fo the carwash. He's especially upset about letting go of his pee and poop. He potty trained himself but is extremely particular about where he goes and won't go if he thinks someone might flush. He won't even let his "mix" ours with his in the toilet which makes it quite tough when we have to go...

Any advice? I'm just going with the flow now and letting him make his own choices, but it's quite difficult for us as he gets very upset about things I don't even think of as a problem.

He sounds so cute with his reverence for ALL things. How do you get the toilet flushed? My daughter isn’t into this same exact thing, per say, but she wouldn’t let us “mix” for a while, which really bugged me. She would make like three drops of pee and then make me flush before I went to the toilet seconds later. I just got fed up with it and started peeing on her pee while telling her that I simply wasn’t going to waste a while toilet worth of water for this issue and that she will just have to deal. She can tell when I'm "finished" with an issue and usually doesn't fight a loosing battle. It worked for us but it sounds like your son is much more attached to things right now.

That's a "whole" toilet worth of water...what's wrong with me?
