I Had my 30 week appointment today it went nice, baby is head down, and my kids all got to help listen to the baby! ( had them all with me for the first time since its a snow day today)
only issue was that my blood pressure was high but just under high, it was 128/88, my normal in pregnancy is 127/72, she took it twice then had the rest of my appointment then had me lay on my left side and took it again and it was great 110/68! so i have mw orders to laydown on my left side 3x's a day which sounds nice...but i have 3 kids lol, she also told me to take calcium and magnesium 3x's a day so i picked some up, tho i couldn't go to the health food store so i just got some at the grocery store and it has vit D added in so i hope thats ok... i get plenty of sunshine so i useally wouldn't want to take that extra but i am guessing its ok being winter and all. anyway, does anyone know what exactly calcium and Mag does to lower BP?
anyway over all it was a good appointment and she talked to my kids about being at the birth ( who knows who will be there, kinda hoping they are asleep for it lol)

I' m not sure about the mag/cal but I just wanted to add that my BP has been 110/70 at EVERY appt (within a few points at least) so far. Pretty much my whole life. But at my 30 week appt. I was taking the ONLY test I've agreed to so far (GTT, b/c DH wanted me to, even though I am very low-risk for GD). And my BP was 130/90!!!! After the blood was drawn and we chatted for a while, they did it again (on the left side this time) and it was a little better 120/80, but I know it was "white coat hypertension". The mw didn't tell me to do anything about it, and I am not concerned at all. As a matter of fact, I'm quite sure I went back to normal the moment I left the office!

Any chance having all the kids there could have affected your BP? Or perhaps something else significant about that appt or the drive there?

Mine is *always* up when I see my MW. At home it averages a super low 90/60 but there it has gone as high as 127/86! I told them the hiigh numbers are a fluke - and brought in my at-home readings. They weren't worried.
