Beautiful photos...Do share your "setup" techniques. I did some photos that my mom took in a makeshift home studio (read: a sheet hung on the wall and a lamp for artsy lighting) and made a belly mask with PG#1. I'd love to do something creative yet different to preserve the images of this pregnancy.

Thanks guys
We had a lot of fun doing these. At least, I did, DH might have gotten tired after the 45th photo or so, lol

Soft lighting ~ I stood in our dark bedroom at night. We had our camera on a tripod with a very slow shutter speed and the timer set. DH experimented with a regular flashlight...he held it at different angles, we used a white pillowcase to diffuse it, etc. We also experimented a little bit with the tripod height, camera angle, etc. I didn't have a backdrop at all for that shot.

Silhouette ~ Again, in our dark bedroom at night, we set up the camera with a very slow shutter speed on the tripod, and aimed it at a blank wall (and again, no backdrop). I stood in front of the camera but off to the left so I was out of frame. DH was even further to the left and he shined the flashlight on me in such a way that my shadow was projected onto the wall (so I am not actually in the picture, just my shadow). Again, we experimented with diffusing the light and adjusting the angle. I doctored this picture up ever so slightly in photoshop because the original was sorta orange-y.

Have you ever been to Worth1000.com? The main page takes you to Photoshop contests, but there's also a Photography section. There's a photography forum and they have a mentor program. I recently got a mentor and she's been helping me learn to take better pictures.
