We are preparing for our third home waterbirth, and I had my 34 week visit with her today. Everything looks great, bo is good, baby heartbeat was obtained by fetoscope and is nice and normal. My weight gain is 34 lbs at 34 weeks which is good for me, usually gain 45-55 per pregnancy. Baby is at +1 station in my pelvis (deeply engaged), and since he was so far down, I asked for an internal to make sure I wasnt dilating. No dilation, but Im 50% effaced. Was glad to know, since DH needs some nice factual data to get the point that I need to take it easy and that I am really uncomfortable with this big baby head practically falling out from between my legs.. after 4 pregnancies, and he still needs facts in late pregnancy.. : silly man.

So he is encouraging me to find some neighbor girls and homeschooled girls from church to come over a few days a week to give me some relief with the 3 kids, and to take it easy till 37 weeks.

Hope everyone elses bi-monthly/weekly appts are good news this week! Stay put a little longer, everyone!

LOL about dh needing factual data to let you take it easy. Some guys just don't quite get it.

Glad your appointment went well and your dh agrees with you getting some help! I finally broke down and hired a nanny three hours a day in June and it has made a world of difference. Just having a few hours every day where I can get my work done without dd wanting food, water, a clean diaper, or the dog getting into something has made me a much nicer person! :

If there are any colleges/community colleges in your area, that is also a source of part time/ temporary workers. One of the colleges near us actually has a list of students willing to do on-call work, including housecleaning and child care. I haven't tried any of them yet, though, because I was lucky enough to find a nanny who is an MDC mom!

Sounds like a great appt!

Maybe all our DH's should go to school together. They need it!

Congratulations on a great visit!! I have my first "home visit" is in a couple of weeks. My midwife and I meet again in her office next week, though. I live in a mother-daughter with my parents and they don't know about the whole hb thing. It's a big secret. I'm wondering how I'm going to "sneak" my midwife in. Should be interesting.

Anyway, my husband doesn't need factual data-he just needs a clue. He doesn't get why when he comes home I'm ready to just fling myself on the couch and call it a night. He seems to think that with a 2 1/2 yo, my 6 yo niece and the 15 month-old baby I watch, I have loads of time to sit around all day!! Meanwhile today, aside from all that, I also did 4 loads of laundry, cleaned out the fridge and freezer (to make room for all the postpartum meals I'm making) and went food shopping. Sit all day?!?! I wish!!

Ok, I think I'm finshed ranting now...
