34 week prenatal! Wow, we're getting close...

I had my 34 week prenatal today, I can't believe how close we are getting! I'm measuring on target as usual and baby was LOA and very low... not sure if baby is engaged or not since we didn't do any VE but s/he is pretty low and keeping me running to the potty a lot. LOL I told her about my cervical twinges, which we figure is normal since I've been 3 and 4cm with the other two at 36 and 37 weeks... stands to reason I'm dialating already.

Now I'm getting anxious to meet this little guy or girl (I think it's a boy, but we'll see). I can't believe baby could be here in as little as 2-3 weeks (or as much as 6-8).
Time flies! I see her again in two weeks and then we go weekly. Wow.

I love to point out to dh that this baby could be here in like 4 weeks. I don't think he is as excited as I am-he always looks a little pale when I say that

My 34 week appt is on Thursday. It's crazy! At most, I have 6 more weeks from today (planning a scheduled csec on 5/8, if I haven't gone into active labor by then).

Right now, I'm focusing on about 10 more days. Since after that, it's unlikely that dd would need to stay in the NICU.

My dh gets a bit worried thinking about our two kids AND a newborn, but it will be okay because the weather will improve soon.

Yes, you're getting close too! When do you come off of bedrest?

Well, I'm only on modified bedrest at this point. It still rather sucks, as I'm not really allowed to do much. I've been having some MAJOR nesting urges that I'm trying to fight!

My OB was planning on pulling me off the terb. at 36 weeks, but since dh is taking the MCAT a week after that, we all agreed that it would be better if I stay on the meds until 37 weeks. Once I hit 36 weeks, the OB and hospital consider that good enough. They won't try to stop labor at that point or automatically take dd to the NICU. So, I imagine that in 2 weeks, I'll be allowed to do whatever I feel up to doing. But, honestly I'm in so much pain this pg, that I can't imagine doing all that much anyway.

I would just really like to get our family back to some semblance of normalcy. When dh is done studying for this test, once ds is back home most of the time, and our little dd is here, I feel like we can find our new normal and just get on with life.

momm2emerson, we are on the same timeframe! I am 34 weeks Friday, and doing the same (avoid) NICU countdown. I am new to this PTL/bedrest, but am starting to settle into the groove. I am 3cm dilated and very uncomfortable, so each day we make it through I am so grateful. Even though we are so close, it feels so far when you are woried about preterm birth.

I'm sure that will feel wonderful- for you too Max!

This upcoming Thursday is my last day of working and then I'm going to get my rear into gear. I think the denial is wearing off!
When DH thinks of how the babe could be here in just a couple of weeks if he or she decides to come early he wipes his hand down the front of his face and lets out a long sigh, all mock worried.
But we are like OMG
: when we think about how little time we have left and what there is to do. Nesting urge don't fail me now!
