37 weeks and breech

I just found out this morning that the baby is breech. I am shocked and hugely disappointed. My mw were not aware of my baby's breech position before this. I had an ultrasound this morning for another reason.
I just came back from the chiro and had the Webster technique done. I am scheduled for an external version on Tuesday morning.

This baby is big - 95th%, and I worry that the version won't be effective. I'm not worried about a vaginal birth with such a baby. My son was that big also. I just make big babies, but am not sure if there is enough room for a version.

In my area, vaginal breech births are not allowed, even though Iknow I am a great candidate for a vaginal breech. So if she hasn't turned, I will have to plan for a scheduled c-section.

Any ideas? I need some support.

FYI Homebirth is not an option, although it is my and my husband's ideal. Please don't suggest a homebirth.

This is from a friend of mine. I was asking about techniques for turning:

Quote:
Try homeopathic Pulsatilla in a "30 C" dose. Dose recommendations vary. I'd say, take this remedy several times per day for 3 days, then check presentation again. Then do the breech tilt: Lie down with your hips 12-18 inches higher than your shoulders for no more than 20 minutes, two to three times per day. Continue only until the baby turns and stays head down.
I've pasted a piece from a website that makes other dose recommendations.
Also, try Swimming.
And, it is recommended that you try to find a chiropractor experienced with the Webster Technique. If you have a midwife/doctor who is experienced in delivering breech babies, there should be no problem at all. The issue is that most docs would prefer to do a C.

Good luck. I hope your baby turns before your scheduled ECV. Did you ask how they would do it? At my u/s this morning, the tech told me that they use epidurals to relax the uterus. I was really shocked by this.

Thanks for the info. I am impressed how the Webster Tech. has already improved her mov't. It has really relaxed my uterine muscles.

I will be given the drug, can't remember the name, it begins with a T, the drug that is given to stop contractions in preterm labor. It gives you the shakes, but is fairly safe. The ECV will be done in a hospital. I would not be willing to do it in a mw office.

I will check out the websites that you gave me. thanks
too bad homebirth isn't an option. How about flying to Baltimore? I know a lady who had a v-breech there in october.

I had a v-breech in 1995, 9 lbs 8 oz baby. if I had another breech I'd stay home.
yeah, do a search. Moxibuxtion made my babe move the most and Webster's second-most...
TURN, baby, TURN!
