Baby looked great, cervix was super high (I told her that) but still 3cm and I asked the doc to sweep my membranes. I've never had this done before because I've never been dilated before being in labor, but I am so sick of the hours and hours and hours of going-nowhere BHs keeping me awake every night and so sick of being a cranky, whining witch every day because I'm getting no sleep. So, ever since the "sweep" (which felt more like a tonsil check with my cervix being so high!) I've been very crampy and am now having contractions every 10 minutes. We'll see if this actually goes anywhere. In the meantime, we're getting the house straightened up, the kids are at grandma's, and we're making sure bills are paid, etc. Exciting, but I'm trying not to get too worked up at this point. If this turns into the real thing, it'll be the first time for me to have a baby before my EDD besides my 35-weeker pre-e baby... of course, I'm 39w4d, so it's not like I'm early or anything!!

Well, they're still 10-15 minutes apart... ALL.DAY.LONG!!!!!!! So, we are at home and getting in the bed. I'm hoping that I can sleep most of the night and wake up in labor tomorrow as my favorite OB is on call all weekend.
If there's anything to tell, I'll do my best to update!!

So exciting to think of really holding your baby that soon! Sending you easy labor vibes and hoping that you got some quality rest.

Well, nothing yet. In fact, I've had a few ctx today, probably about 30 minutes apart...
Lost a huge, very pluggy-looking chunk of mucus, really stringy stuff and tinged a little brown, but I think that's from the membrane stripping.
SO SO SO SO SO SO disappointed, because now I have no excuse to keep my hubby home from work and I am really quite nervous being 39+5/6/40w this weekend, being 3+ cms, having a history of precipitous labor, and having my husband away from home 13 hrs each night. boo boo boo.
I've got till 6:30 pm to come up with something more convincing than mucus to keep him home... that's about 3 hrs from now and it ain't looking good.
