DD can't get any sleep because either her or my coughing wakes her, she's started coughing yesterday, coughing more today, fever just started and is at 101 now, although I suspect it will climb before coming down. She's also been pooping / farting up a storm, although I don't know if that's because she's sick, because I had curry yesterday, or because of the thyme/lemon/ginger/cayenne tea concoction I took yesterday to help with my snot and cough. It worked really well, but I'm holding off so I don't make her bottom any more unhappy. She is EBF and I'm pumping the Cs and still taking prenatals. I don't want to run her in to the doc, but is there anything I can do to help her out? She's miserable

P.S. - have also dosed her twice with homemade gripe water of fennel and ginger.

I took vitC to bowel tolerance (for myself, I mean) when my son was just nursing and it really helped (but I had to take a whole lot to get to bowel tolerance). That was the best for passing some on vitC in my milk and supporting my immune system to make more antibodies faster.

For coughing illnesses for older kids/adults, I make Aviva Jill Romm's garlic lemonade (minced garlic in boiling water, let it steep, strain out garlic and add lemon juice and honey to taste--google for an exact recipe). Very tasty, seems to help with coughs.

Hope y'all are feeling better already.
