So girls, what's up this week? The sun in shining here...which really expands my wardrobe, since I bought my maternity clothes with summer in mind
:

Our U/S is two weeks from today...I'm really trying to fight the urge to move it up! My two RL preggo friends have already found out that they are having girls...I want to know too!

The sun is also shining here. It will be in the 80s all week. I don't have any summer clothes, but maybe I will try to find something soon. On the home front, I had my first real preggo moment this weekend. I had gone on a long hike with the dogs on Saturday and that night I got up from the couch to go pee and I couldn't walk! DH had to actually help me to the bathroom. I guess that is sciatic nerve pain? Probably not muscle pain since I wasn't sore the next morning, but MAN! It hurt but the whole scene was just hilarious. I felt like I was 90 and needed a walker.

I still am not feeling the baby. I am sure it is early for me, but it is so exciting to hear that all of you are feeling yours. My next MW appt is in May so I have a while to wait before I hear the heartbeat again. I'll just have to trust that everything is okay in there.

Also I swear I gained 4 pounds in one day! I was really sore in the abdomen are one day and the next BAM 4 punds heavier. Yikes! Luckily, I am gaining in all in the front. My arms still look like toothpicks. My hips have expanded but I don't think I have added any fat to them. They are just wider. Making room for baby!

Back at work now. Just four more days till the weekend. At least through my tiny office window I can see the sun.

Nothing exciting here. Rainy, windy, chilly out. Was going to go out to lunch with some coworkers, but when we got to the door of the building and saw outside, we changed our mind and went to the cafeteria instead! (we can't see the outside from our workplace, I work in a very secure location)

I woke up really sick this morning. Well, not when I woke up, a little while later. I suddenly got this terrible hot flash, was nauseous, and started hyper-salivating. It was really weird. I knew the vomit was coming at any second, I dropped to the tile floor (which was cool, helped with the hot flash!), started the deep breathing (in through the nose, out through the mouth), did pressure points, etc. Ugh!!! I felt a little "off" all morning and even through lunch, but am okay now (snacking on cheez-its, in fact!)

I've been sleeping crummy...blah.

Craving sweets again...although I just wandered up to the little store we have intending to buy some candy, eyed the twizzlers and skittles, then turned around and saw salty cheez-its and ended up with those instead. So go figure!

Umm...what else. Oh, had a good meeting with my midwife last night. It was a large group, all us pregnant girls, our hubbys, and kids. It was a bit crazy actually! We talked about all the stuff that the midwife DOESN'T do, so if we want done, we have to seek out ourselves. Things like: GBS abx, Vit K, eye goop, Hep B shot, circumcision, etc. Most of it I don't want anyway...in fact, all of it! Oh, except hearing screen and PKU (and other newborn screens) I do want those, and if I do birth at home (I'm still deciding between birth center and home birth) then I'll take baby in afterwards to get those two taken care of. At my convenience, of course!

Hmm, it's a short week for DH, Marathon Monday here..so we went shopping!! I have doubled my maternity clothing in the past 2 days, so I feel better. I FINALLY got my first pair of maternity jeans in the mail. I had to online shop since I have long legs and couldn't find a 34 inch inseam to save my life on a rack, um, unless I wanted to drop $200 bucks! So I get to retire the jeans held up/together by elastic bands!

Hmm, besides that DH and I can't seem to be civil to each other for longer than a couple of days. I know we are both doing some growing and changing, but I swear I don't even think we are on the same planet sometimes! I am trying to keep my cool, but it feels like he actually likes to dance on my last nerve!

Besides that, trying to sneak some exercise into every day is my goal for the week, and to start getting serious about our house hunting.

Strongfeather....DP and i definitely went through a hating eachother, don't you even dare look at me let alone speak to me phase. I know it will pass for you two!

My weekend was good. I didn't do prenatal yoga like i had planned, oops. I did get the house pretty clean although now all the junk is filling the nursery so i will have to work harder to get that cleaned out. I was able to stay up til 1am on saturday night when we went to our new favorite bar with some friends. nice to have a friend that isn't sick of hearing about the baby, haha. (i had a cherry coke, with caffeine, that is my like, going out drink)

sigh. missed Grey Gardens which i was looking forward to but did remember to DVR.

Sunday we went to the Red Sox game which i count as baby's first and DP says i am crazy and it's first will be next season. haha.

sleeping really badly. really. don't really want to work any more, is it maternity leave yet?

Sounds like a lot of you are doing some shopping! How fun!!

ilovejeff, I hear you about wanting to know the gender already. We have 17 days left (yes, I am counting!) and I can't wait. I keep telling myself to be patient...we're lucky that we live in an age and place where this is a choice. Also, I always kind of miss the feeling of mystery about the gender after it is a known fact (I don't miss it enough to leave it a surprise, though!)

As for us, we are getting back on track here...my oldest went back to school after a week break, but the little girl I watch during the day came back after the same break, so kind of an even trade off. At some point I'm sure I'll have a day where I am pushed over the edge by the situation and vent about that whole issue, but I'll bite my tongue for now and just deal.

I'm working hard to try to convince my dh that we should fence in our small side yard and turn it into a garden with raised beds. We usually have a shared garden with my parents at their farm, but we fell behind on maintaining it last year and I can't see us doing any better in that regard this year. It is just much harder to have to pack everybody up in the car and drive somewhere in order to weed. If it were right here, I could weed while the youngest one took a nap and the older kids could help for as long as they wanted and then play in the fenced area if they got too bored to continue weeding. Anybody else garden?

On a final note, I have just recently realized that I now sit like a man! Apparently, I really like to feel the baby moving (which has just recently happened), so when I am sitting, I put my hand on my lower belly on the off chance that the little one will decide to move at that time. It all seemed very normal until I thought about it and realized it must look like the characteristic guy watching tv with his hand tucked into the waist of his pants! It struck me as funny.

Yep, we garden and it is go time! I started the early planting a month ago and have lettuce, spinach, chard, onions and asparagus coming up. It is also time to harvest the garlic I planted in the fall. This coming weekend I hope to get the spring planting in; squash, beans, peas, corn. Tomatoes come later.

We also have 1001 other house and yard projects this summer, but what else is new?

Sun??? i am really jealous! it has been raining, windy and chilly here for the past couple of days. i mean like, all day. we even had hail mixed in today for some good ol' fun!
:

oh yeah, 101 house and garden projects over here too. I need to re-seed the lawn in the back it is so thin. i want the LO to have some nice grass to play on. i went and got some peet moss and some other kind of grass thing to cover the seeds with today. while i was at it i thought i'd make it fun so i went to Old Navy and got some cropped yoga pants and another top. then i went to the Gap and got some cute cotton boy short undies (since apparently i need a butt load this summer
) and a summer cardigan. i had fun but now i am pooped.

been CRAVING sweets like a mad woman. this isn't really like me, i crave salt usually. i have been dreaming of cheesecake and ice cream, chocolate and cake. i held off for the past couple of days but when i got home i made myself a hot chocolate. had some organic drinking chocolate i got in the winter and it hadn't even been opened yet. it. was. good.

my pcp ordered me an U/S. i called b/c i was feeling like maybe i wanted one but now i don't know again. my pcp is so sweet though.

the BP monitor i ordered came and i have been taking my BP in the AM and it's always really good, like 110/65 or so. i think i am supposed to take it before bed too but i haven't done that. i am afraid it will be higher at that time.

i have been pretty tired lately and napping in the afternoon but other than that i feel swell.

I decided to send DH out for drinks with the guys and to watch the Celtics.. Ah, a quiet house...

As for it being a phase, my WHOLE first trimester was like that!! For some reason last weekend it started up again. I think we are just going through some growing pains. (or at least I hope!)

Hi mamas!

Weekend was a bit aggravating (see HB bashing thread) but today was pretty super b/c I finally felt movement that I knew was my baby and not just my intestines rumbling!!! It was like being gently poked on the inside. . .and it happened repeatedly on two separate occasions. Yay! Now I feel like being pg will be fun (until I am huge and hot etc.
). Felt it lower down more towards the right. Wonder if it was feet down there? Anyway, it was wonderful
!

Have my MW appt tomorrow, which I was starting to stress over, but now that I felt the LO I feel more relaxed. Still have three whole weeks to wait till the gender u/s. I am starting to worry that DH and I are getting to attached to the idea of a little girl and will be so, so disappointed if its a boy. I know we'd get over it, but I'd hate to spend any time being not excited about any baby! So that's a worry (yes, I worry about everything! Hey, its my hobby!
).

The weather here is incredible. . .almost too hot. Really, last night I had a hard time sleeping it was so hot upstairs. But its just the fickle spring weather and its supposed to get colder and rainy next weekend. Soon enough it will just be plain hot with no break till October. . .not sure I am ready for that.

Skydancer--I had to laugh about the sitting like a man! I am like this now too. Although I restrain myself in public, at home I keep my hand low on the tummy trying to feel something. And it is like the guy hand-in-pants gesture!

Feeling hungry today. . .growth spurt maybe? Better go make a snack!

The weather here has been warming up but tonight it is raining heavily!

The weekend was great, my MIL came to visit and bought me some new maternity clothes as a Birthday Present (I turn 37 on April 29th). I was planning on getting a few things for myself but she insisted on paying.

I visit my MW tomorrow and then have my 20w u/s on Friday! It is hard to believe that I am actually half way to Sept 10th!!

My Dad is also coming to visit on Friday as he hasn't seen DS since xmas (my parents live on the otherside of this huge country (Canada, that is).

So, it is a busy week and 3yo DS seems to be in fine 3yo form!

My OB/GYN office called on Thursday to tell me that the prenatal appointment I was supposed to have today was getting moved to Friday.

This is fine, except I am a hormonal crabby pregnant lady. If I had my appointment today, it would have been almost five weeks since my last prenatal, which I was already not happy about. Now it will be OVER five weeks since my last one. They didn't offer me the option to hear the heartbeat last time and I didn't ask because I was still riding high on seeing my ultrasound 3 weeks before that... that high has worn off!! I neeeeeeed to go in and hear the heartbeat... don't they understand?

Anyway, other than that, um... it's hot as hell in California right now and I am not loving it. Heat wave, go away!

I also had to accept the sad fact this morning that my chest has gone up ANOTHER cup size. WTH am I going to find a 38F bra that won't break the bank and will still be comfortable? I don't know if I should even bother since they'll probably just balloon in size as soon as I get one. It had really seemed like they were stabilizing at 38E, too. Nature, please, I am all set on that front!

On a happy note (I'm not really this crabby usually!) I have been feeling what I think is the baby moving a LOT over the past week. It's great. I am really enjoying this moving around while it still feels nice and the tadpole isn't big enough to kick me very hard.

I was at a Lane Bryant over the weekend and got two new bras for under $60 - they have some pretty decent ones that go up to an H cup. (I'm in a 38H/40G).
some of the bras were on sale too.

Blah. Again woke up feeling kind of "off" this morning. Not sure what's going on. I'm going to really focus on hydrating a TON today and see if that helps. Of course I say that with a McCafe Caramel Latte in my hands right now!

What can I say, I drove past McDs this mornign and it just looked GOOD!

Hi everyone!
I don't hang out here much, but I like to do the chat threads.

I am plenty big but still able to hide the pregnancy (which I feel most comfortable doing). Everytime I buy shirts to show it off but then end up not wearing them b/c I prefer to just size up and hide the bump.

I did break down and buy designer maternity jeans.... and now they are the only pair I will wear, so I just purchased another.
Now I can give the Liz Lange stuff I hate to my gf. I am still wearing a few pairs of my 'fat pants' but as my uterus gets higher that gets difficult. I like to wear everything low on my hips, so a few of those pants still work, somehow.

As this is my 3rd pregnancy, mainly I am trying to not go hog-wild on the food. When I need a snack I try my darnest to make it a fruit or vegetable.
I know what it's like to have to lose extra 'baby' weight versus pop right back into jeans and I'd rather try for the latter!

This is such a nice time during pregnancy- I have so much more energy, I just feel great. And sexy, isn't that strange? I don't remember feeling so large, but proud with the other two. I guess I just know what I want in the bedroom department by now.

That McCafe Latte sounds darn good... and I haven't stopped at a McD's in YEARS! I am partial to Dairy Queen. If it would ever warm up on this darn prairie maybe I'd be ready for ice cream coffee!!

I got a couple cute maternity shirts from my mom and...they're HUGE! Not just in the belly, either! She got me an EXTRA small (I usually wear a small or a medium) and this thing fits me like at least a large all over. The neck is too wide and low for me to wear.

Had a MW appt today. I have officially gained 10 pounds (eep!, but only four since last appt four weeks ago, so I am right on track with one a week) and the heartbeat sounded good.
She got it where you could hear the babies heartbeat and mine together, slow and quick together. . .yah. And my BP was fine and the sugar in the urine dip was fine. . .so I can officially stop worrying for at least a week now!
And we talked for awhile, which was nice. . .usually she seems a bit rushed so it was good to have a little time to ask questions.

And three times today I felt the LO moving. . .this is the most yet in one day. It only last a few minutes, but its so amazing to have a reminder that I am actually growing a new person!
: The baby seems most active when I am in the car (I commute--an hour each way most week days), not sure if its the loud music or what, but its funny that it gets all bouncy during my drives.

Just wanted to share. Now I just have to make it three weeks till my u/s.

This thursday I'll see my doctor and she'll order the UC for us. I'm getting excited to see our little one and for our daughter to see too. She has come with me to all of the MW appointments. Our baby has been moving more too. Especially when DD laughs or squeals.

I told the preschoolers in my class that the baby can hear everything we say. One girl gave me a big hug right around my waist (her eye level) and said "Hi Baby". They are so sweet.
I've been tired lately too. I think today it had to do with the gray, gloomy, cold, rainy weather we're having. At least it will be sunny soon.
Our DD is turning 3 on saturday! We can hardly believe it! She is saying the funniest things lately. The other day she was opening and closing her mouth like a goldfish. She said "I'm eating dust". I could see little dust floating in the air in the sunbeam. Today I asked her what we should name the baby if it's a girl. She said "Toddy". If it's a boy, she thinks "Cody". What she thinks changes everyday, so it's fun to ask her.

I went to the birth centre today! I didn't get to meet with the midwife because she was with another woman but I did a tour. I love it! I can't wait to give birth there! Hurry up September!
As I've said on other posts, my mom had post-partum hemorrage when I wa born, so I asked about that and the owner totally calmed me down and ended my worries. They are fully prepared and have dealt with it before. Whew! Maybe this is old news to everyone else but it's great for me! Yay! Tomorrow I have an appointment at 4.
