My 4 mo old has his 2nd cold. Both times the whole family has been sick, but I am feeling really bad. He is stuffy/runny nose & a wet cough. he's happy most of the time, but sounds aweful. He was born at home & isn't being vax'd so I just haven't bothered w/ a dr yet, but now I am thinging maybe I should.

He also has what I think is eczema, has had it for awhile. It isn't really bad, but it is pretty much everywhere. He is bfding & cut dairy doesn't seem to make a diffrence. Actually nothing seems to make a diffrence yet.

I am afraid that maybe he has some sort of immune issue. Then again I am a paranoid mom. DS1 had 2 colds in his 1st yr, now DS2 has 2 in is 1st 4 months. Should I be worried? Should I take him to a dr? I am not Dr friendly & really worried if I do take him they'll just give me some unnecessary meds/antibiotics, as that is generally what seems to happen.

It's just a bad time of year for a baby to be born! Fall/winter always bring on colds! Ds is 5.5 months, EBF and has had one thing after another! It gets old doesn't it? I personally would not take him in unless he got much worse. I too worried about immune issues with ds because he has had resistant thrush for 5.5 months and continuously sick but I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that I was on antibiotics throughout the last half of my pregnancy & that is making him susceptible.

Try not to worry! Keep breastfeeding! I've gotten a lot of recommendations for Sodium Ascorbate and we've been using it for our family for colds/flu. I would pick some up as it really seems to work!

Thanks! It's nice to know I'm not alone. Would Emergen-C be the same sort of thing as Sodium Ascorbate? We have been takeing that.
