My 5 month old just started mother's morning out (I'm in school). He doesn't go very often at all! However, the second day he developed his first cough. It's very wet...sounds like bronchitis. You all have any advice? He coughs a lot at night and his nose is runny-clear. I've been using saline and that is it. I do not prefer to use any medications-only natural alternatives.

Do you bf? If so, I'd take alot of garlic. HF stores typically carry homeopathics for babies--hylands, as well as glycerites--herbs for kids has some; immune support and such. When my babes seem rattle-ey in there chests, I like to bounce them gently on an exercise ball or on my shoulder to aid their lymph system, as well as steaming up the bathroom and sitting in it for awhile, letting them breathe in the steam. THis seems to loosen up any congestion they may have. HTH, I know it's rough when baby is sick.

I'll look into garlic. Thanks so much. And, I haven't seen anything by hylands. We use their teething tabs...I'll look for others.

Thanks!
