I’m looking for recommendations for larger sized training pants for my DD. She weighs 38Lbs (14Kgs) and still has baby fat on her thighs. TIA

I found the gerbers run big. I would try the 3T for a 38 pound kid. When my dd was probably about 30-32 pounds, she wore the 2T because the 3T's were still too big - should could wear them, but a poop accident would totally fall right through the leg holes and onto the floor (don't ask me how I know - eew!)

Thank you so much noordinaryspider & lnitti for the suggestions. We tried the Gerber's first and they are too small. After seeing the prices on everything else I'm going to try just underwear with her while confining her to the hardwood floor area. She got some today and I hear was practicing taking them off, sitting on the potty, then pulling them back up. She has actually been using the potty consistently during naked time for awhile now so she may make the transition easily. If not I found some instructions on how to sew training pants out of underwear. If someone knows of something similar that is inexpensive I would appreciate a recommendation.

I found that Gerbers are short in the rise though, so my 32lb 2 year old can't wear them. We ended up just going with regular underwear in size 4T.

That's odd because dd has a super long rise. We had to buy very large size diapers for her to accommodate the rise even when she was no where near the weight range for the size - like buying size 5's when she was under 20 pounds. or size large cloth when she was barely in the medium weight range.

Although, the long rise is why we went to the 3T's, but they were too big in the legs. There were a couple of the 2T's that must have shrunk. Or maybe the sizing changed (they were the first ones we bought). Those ones were too short in the rise, but the others were fine. We stuck with the 2T's.

dd was only about a year and half (probably less), so way too many misses to go straight to undies When we did go to undies, we went straight to size 4's. Skipped the 2t/3t size altogether except for the couple pair of hand me downs that were too small for her. Also skipped the 4T's and opted for 4's because we didn't want character prints. It seems that 4T's and 4's in undies are about the same.

We went straight to undies too when my ds potty trained. There just were no training pants the right size for him.

We use the boy version of these and DS loves them and they are pretty absorbent, saves pants on small start to pees and stops a puddle from forming on bigger pees. Plus the price is good.
