I have noticed that our 5 yo dd has been grinding her teeth at night. She sometimes sleeps in our room and last night when I was up with the baby I heard her grinding her teeth. What does this mean and how can I help her stop doing this? Any suggestions?

It could be a stress-reliever, much like thumb-sucking. She may not even be aware she's doing it. Has she been getting headaches or anything? I used to grind my teeth and it gave me awful head and jaw aches.

I'd bring it up with her ped. It could be damaging her teeth. Of course it could be nothing as well, but I'd still get it checked out.
