and school doesn't start until 8 am. Kailey has been asking every 3 1/2 minutes if we can "go yet." She is dressed and fed and teeth are brushed.

We are so excited for her first day of 1st grade.

Before we went to see her new room and new teacher Friday afternoon she was very nervous. Now she says "I'm not nervous anymore, just excited!"

Yeay us!

Asha is like that. Any time they were on break last year she'd be up by 6am wanting to know if it was time to go to school. She's also going into Grade 1, they start on Wed. My oldest doesn't do it, she's going into Grade 4 & I have to drag her out of bed most mornings.lol My youngest is going into K & I expect her to be excited Wed(though she doesn't go till the afternoon & then is full day on Fri) & maybe Fri, after that I'm not expecting her to be.lol

Too funny how the little ones are so excited and the older ones won't get out of bed.

I picked her up this afternoon and we hugged each other like ccrazy. Then while driving in the car she totally changed.

She started tucking her hair behind both ears and clicking her tongue, like repeatedly. I ask, "hm, who taught you how to do that?" AND SHE ROLLED HER EYES AT ME.

Then she starts looking in the mirror and fixing her hair.

A few minutes later she says, "I have to call you mudder now since I am a big girl and only kindergarteners say mommy." I thought I would die!

Exactly.

And really, I was looking at her last night and she is changing. She looks taller (her 6x swimsuit is now to short in the torso) and she is carrying herself differently. Not like a "big girl" but definitely not like a kindergartener.

Ya know, when she was a baby people would say, "wouldn't it be nice if they would stay this size forever." And I always said and thought, "NO! I can't wait for her to be older so we can chat and play and do more things together and she can tell me who she is."

At this moment, not so much. It won't be long before she is so "old" that she doesn't want to play Barbies or Polly Pockets or Groovy Girls with me.

My new motto, "Screw the housework!"

Gosh I feel all teary
