My baby is nearly 6 months old and hasn't rolled over yet... if I put her on her back she lies there like a bug on her back, if I put her on her stomach she will lift herself up a little but then fall back down and just lie with her head rested on the ground.

If I recall, all my other babies were rolling over by 4 months.

Do you think I should be worried? She coos, plays with her feet and hands, reaches for things, laughs, and smiles.

She spends at least an hour a day (sometimes as much as three hours) in a moby wrap... could this make her develop differently?

This sounds exactly like my LO at that age. Then one day (she was just over six months old) she was lying on her back and she just rolled over. For the first time ever. Like she had been doing it for ages. Now, she rolls all over the place to get to where shes wants to go.

I know its hard not to worry, but try not to. Im sure she's fine.

My DS finally rolled from front to back at 6 months 1 week, and still has trouble rolling from back to front. He just isn't very motivated to move (crawling isn't going to happen soon). He was an early sitter though, and loves to be supported so he can stand, so I think it's normal for him - he's just putting his focus on other things.

DS rolled over a few times around 4.5 months and now at 6.5 months, rarely ever does it, I think he forgot that he knows how. When the pediatrician asked me at the 6 month visit if he was rolling over and I said "not really", he said 15% of babies never roll over. So I wouldn't worry too much about it. And by the way, wearing your baby helps your her reach developmental milestones, it doesn't prevent them from doing so.

we call my youngest "the turtle" because she just lies there when you put her on her back(or she did until a week ago). she's fully capable of rolling over, she just chooses not to. she crawls, walks, climbs stairs, etc but rolling over. . . . .meh, it's overrated.

I was going to ask this re: my 4 month old. I've witnessed her roll over all of 3 times, once from tummy to back and other 2 times from back to tummy. It doesn't seem to interest her much...our FP isn't concerned...even thinks she's ahead on most counts.

Mine's almost 8 months and I've seen him roll over a grand total of twice. He hates being on his tummy and will only lift his head up if there's something really interesting. So he CAN do it, he just doesn't want to. Like the OP, he likes being zen, I guess. He sits up really well and is doing everything else babies his age are supposed to do, so I TRY not to worry, but it's hard not to.

If you get really worried there's a thread around here someplace with a link to the evaluation sheet they use to decide if a 6-month old needs therapy.

But given what you've described, and my limited memory of the sheet, your baby is 100% fine.
