We didn't start using cloth with out daughter until she was 7 months old. I'm so excited about the idea of using newborn diapers! Woo hoo!

Our current plan is to use a service until the baby is big enough for small diaperrs. We're assuming that will be 4-6 weeks. The cost of Dy-dee here is about $80 a month. So, it may be slightly more than just buying CPFs. But, oh boy.. I really want at least a dozen Tykie Fitteds which were my absolute favorite when my daughter was in diapers!

But, that leaves my husband frustrated because he says that if we're going to wash diapers anyway, we shouldn't bother with getting a service to ease us into having diapers again. I agree with his point--and really, when I'm learning how to have two children, I would rather not need to walk down the hall three times in one morning or afternoon to tend to diapers.

Then, comes that argument about diapers. I like Fuzzi Bunz and most of the sellers of Fuzzi buns include a free insert. My husband prefers Happy Heinys. Unfortunately, for some reason, most of the companies who sell them don't include a free insert at all (does anyone know why?).

Then, of course, I think about throwing all of that out the window and just buying several dozen small fitteds from Tykie Diapers--then, as the baby works his/her way into mediums, I can sell them, and go down to like 30 mediums, sell those, and go down to 24 of the next size. This would allow us to invest a relatively large amount in the beginning--$375-450, then use the proceeds from selling those diapers to cover buying the next set.

Of course, this would work for any diaper line--FB, HHs, fitteds, etc.

But, then, I look at Bum Genius.. and GUSH! Those are so cute. But, I don't care for the limited color selection. So, I think those are out.

So, I'm going to jump in and ask about your preferences. Give it to me. Spread the love. It's been almost 2 years since I've been a part of the diaper scene--that was about the time that the Fuzzi Bunz on the market were jacked up in some way. So, I might even be off the mark thinking I like them!

We have about $500 to spend on our initial stash--so, $20-30 diapers are out.
