I am completely clueless when it comes to buying DH gifts. He knows he's hard to buy for, because even he can never think of anything he wants.

Well, our 7th anniversary is days away, and I would *like* to get him something nice (thoughtful, anyway), but I'm just kinda stumped. 7th is supposed to be wool or copper. Wool sounds nice...but wool what? We're coming up on humid summer weather soon. DH likes to play video/computer games (as do I ), and he likes fantasy books/movies such as LotR... otherwise he doesn't currently have many interests. The only thing I know he might like is some sort of sweatpants/lounge pant. He loves to come home, change out of his work clothes, and be in the loosest fitting, comfortable, nondescript clothes available from his closet. But his sweatpants of choice are disintegrating at the knee.

Anyone have any nice original ideas for me? I've been up all night with insomnia (and look! There's sun on my back now!) and I haven't come up with anything :

Hmmmm. Are you aware that a new game is being launched in a couple days called LORD OF THE RINGS ONLINE: Shadows of Angmar?

Don't know if he's a fan of online games, but this may be an answer. DH signed up for life at a cost of $200. Otherwise it's a monthly fee of $15. I think. (He was going on and on about this, I uh, started to tune him out.) I know there are discounts when you preorder and then the price goes up.

http://www.lotro.com/

I know it sounds expensive, but if you enjoy playing video games too, it's like a gift for *both* of you. That's the argument DH used on me. I haven't played for 2 weeks. He on the other hand has been on every single night.

Hey, my 7th anniversary is today. Happy Anniversary! I have no good ideas. My DH gets a combo anniversary/birthday gift of electronic Sudoku and undershirts. How is that for exciting!

Happy anniversary, Jen

Heather, while I like the *idea* of getting him more games, the reality is that he is (*ahem* we are) so engrossed in World of Warcraft that there isn't time for additional games, really. For instance, we would both love to buy a Wii, but decided it wouldn't be worth it until we were ready to put WoW down, just because we spend so much free time on it. The Christmas before last, I got him several Game Cube games he was really intersted in, but he never played them for long, and now they collect dust in the entertainment center cupboard, waiting for him to have a reason to play the GC instead of WoW.

On a note I could have easily posted in my original post, had I been thinking like a person with a full night's sleep, my IL's will be in town visiting, overlapping our anniversary, actually. We never go out....I have babysitter issues and we like playing our game at home, lol, so it's usually no issue at all. But it seems like perfect timing to do something special, and I don't think the IL's would mind watching the kids for a bit...they probably are coming to see them more than us, hehe.

Once, for our anniversary, I completely redid our bedroom while he was at work. Then, I went to an "ehem"store and bought a box of kama sutra stuff....that was the best gift It was quite an anniversary.

You've got tons of ideas. Have a great anniversary!
If you have the opportunity, take him out! My dh would prefer us going out for a night, over just about anything else... well, maybe not a plasma tv, but that ain't gonna happen!

Ack! You reminded me our wedding anniversary is the 28th! I remembered and then forgot again!

I usually don't get dh a store bought gift.
For our 7th anniversary we went out to dinner. We go out rarely without dd so it was really nice.
