I work out of the house 3 days a week and my DD refuses to drink my pumped milk on those days (I breastfeed the rest of the time). As far as I know solids shouldn't replace milk at this point yet, but not sure what else to do. So our sitter increases her solid and water intake on those days--although not by much because DD isn't a big eater and just gets uninterested.

She's a happy kid and her attitude doesn't change on those days, so seems like she's okay, but wanted some reassurance.

Most days I'm gone for about 9 hours, although next week I'll be gone for over 20 (flying from NYC to Detroit and back in one day) and am worried how that will go for DD/sitter/partner.

Thanks!

It sounds like she is fine--I wouldn't worry too much. Keep offering the milk, though. Have you tried a cup instead of the bottle? I remember that my little boy was too busy and interested in everything to want to hold still for a bottle or breast at that age, but he would use a sippy cup because he could still look around.

Thanks bl987ue! We have tried sippy cups, and different bottles/nipples, and different drinking locations and different temp of the milk etc. She'll take a sip, realize it's my expressed milk and refuse. The milk passes a sniff/taste test, and besides, our sitter mixes it into whatever solid food she is eating and DD will gobble that up. Seems like it's nursing or nothing when it comes to milk.

I'm going to try formula next week ( -- I've managed to bf exclusively so far), just so we can give her that (if that works) while I'm gone for longer stretches.

The only thing that worked for my DD when she was going through that was feeding her the bottle outside. She absolutely refused anywhere else!
