So my almost 3 yr old daughter has decided she would like to be a broccoli for Halloween.Any ideas how to make that happen?

What I'm thinking so far is to dye leggings and a hooded sweatshirt green and attach some sort of "puffs" to the hood of the sweatshirt for the broccoli head.But I'm not sure what kind of "puffs" or how to attach them.

Any ideas?

I think a hat might work better- unless you have a sweatshirt with a snug fitting hood that isn't likely to fall off. Do they still make kids' hoodies with drawstrings?

To make it more clear that you're trying to make her look like a broccoli, I'd attach a "supermarket produce sticker" to her tummy or shoulder with the produce code for broccoli, along with the word "broccoli" spelled out. Maybe make her an organic broccoli? I wouldn't use a real produce sticker, it's too small.

I was planning on sewing a snap on the hood so that it would close under her chin and stay on.I think I'll try it with a safety pin first and see if it works.

Oh and if I can talk her into it she can carry a Whole Foods bag for her trick or treat bag.

The green bodysuit sounds great. What about a bunch of green ballons all held together for her hat and something like that for her hands too.

I was considering balloons but I thought they might deflate before Halloween.

I was also thinking about making a bunch of pompoms for the head.

make it the day of then. maybe do a dress run, balloons are cheap.

I think green pom poms would make a good broccoli head.

I'm trying to think of ways to get a bigger "head" of broccoli though. Could you get a big circle of green card, then cut a hold big enough for her head to fit through, so the card would balance on her shoulders. That would give you somewhere to stick the pom poms/balloons and make more of a broccoli shape.

Yeh,I keep trying to think of ways to get the "head" to be bigger too.Thanks for the idea.

My latest idea is to use a green afro and a friend of mine suggested making bunches or puffs in the afro.
