My DD loves cereal for breakfast. She is a good eater generally througout the day. She has a good mix in her diet including veggies. (MOst days) Anyway, since she likes cereal so much I was thinking of giving her Total in the morning just to be safe wiht lots of vitamins. Do you think it is vitamin overload since I think it is an adult cereal or is ok to give it to her?

Personally I would not do it...I do think it is vitamin overload even for adults. You don't need to get the full allowance of vitamins in one sitting remember and if she eats a varied well balanced diet she should be fine

I think I would pass on the total as well. The form most of those vitamins are in are hard to digest as well. I don't believe it would do much good. I have been giving my ds Kashi heart to heart, it has a good amount of vitamins such as B12 and magnesium, also Eden makes a kamut spiral pasta that has lots of minerals, including iron, that my ds loves. Have it with some good virgin olive oil and you add some good fat as well. Cereals like total make up for what most people lack in their diets, the vitamins & mins found in whole foods are much more utilized by the body. I would stick to natural sources, not loaded up breakfast cereals. Just my thoughts!! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/thumb.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="thumbs up">
