... that went well, yay!

At my 33 week appointment, my fundal height hadn't changed since the 31 week appointment, so the midwife sent me off for a growth check before my 35 week appointment. I was a little confused -- I could feel how much harder the wee beastie was kicking me! but made the appointment.

I had the ultrasound and my next checkup this morning. And it was fine! Absolutely fine! Came out 4 days ahead, overall. Kinda skinny belly, but normal head and long femurs. Amniotic fluid fine. Placenta and cord fine. All body parts they looked for (kidneys?): fine. I know the ultrasound weight estimates are total bunk, but still -- 5lb. 14 oz. was a comforting number!

Only thing that seemed worth worrying about at all: she's occiput posterior. Just like my first was for A WHOLE LOT of hours of labor... she turned just before I started to push. Sigh.

The midwife I saw an hour later was like, "So why exactly did we send you off for a growth check?" Ay yay yay. (Actually, I really liked the midwife I saw today; it's a group practice based at a hospital, so I've been trying to circulate. I really hope she's the one on call when I go into labor.)

I'm glad it all looked good for you! Start some positioning from spinningbabies to work on that posterior babe.

(BTW, they DID find problems at my almost 34 week u/s and everyone (drs/nurses) STILL asks "Now WHY did they send you for this ultrasound?" *sigh* Guess it's not real common. I'd refuse it if I could go back in time, but coulda shoulda woulda.)

Yep, time to re-inflate the birth ball... I saw that on Spinning Babies, they speculate that the rate of posterior babies is going up because so many people sit in office chairs all day... hey, I resemble that remark!
