I was wondering if we could make a collection of birth stories here, of healing births after traumatic ones.

I had a very traumatic birth with DD and am still on the fence about ever having another baby because of it. (I originally wanted 3 kids). I am trying to process the lessons from my traumatic birth and figure out if and how I can learn and help to ensure that the next birth, if there is one, will be healing.

It doesn't have to be a triumphant VBAC story - maybe you had a C-section, then had another one, but the second in some way helped you to heal from the trauma of the first. Maybe you had a very long physically difficult homebirth and in your next birth you found some way to cope with that or the possibility of it that allowed you to heal from the experience of the first birth.

It would be nice if you could share both stories - the traumatic birth and the healing one, but I totally understand if you don't want to share the traumatic one. I still haven't written out the whole story of DD's birth, and it's over 14 months ago. If you don't want to share the whole story, maybe give a brief descriptive sentence to give context to your healing birth story.

Feel free to post links rather than writing the whole thing out here - and feel free to add anything you think might help me or other mamas on our quest for a healing birth.

Thanks everyone
