Hi all,
My head is spinning a bit.
Last night when I did the visitation exchange, my ex said "Looking Good Mom!" to me.
I was taken aback...kind of shocked...
I blurted out, "That's the first compliment you've given me in years" and he said, "Well I should do it more often" and I said, "Yea you should" and we both laughed.
We've been seperated for 2 years, divorced for one and this is the first nice thing he's said to me in a long time.
My ex had a slew of problems...drug addiction, alcohol abuse and verbal threats/abuse toward me.
He admittedly has seemed to really be working to get it together the last year. His drug tests were clean, he's kept a regular job and he's been polite and calm in our conversations about our son.
He never has asked for my forgiveness.
His comment felt a bit healing last night....and admittedly, pulled at my heart strings a bit.
Just spewing
Thanks for sharing that.
It's great when things like that happen. I hope the two of you can co-parent with a lot more of that kind of positive encouragement.

I hope it's a beginning and indication of positive co-parenting to come.

It felt healing to have him say somethign positive to me.
Especially since it affirms for me too that I have worked very hard on myself running, aerobics and good diet to honor myself. It's nice to know that it shows and that he has it in himself to say something kind to me....in front of our son too!

I'm sure he'll say something crappy soon to ruin it :LOL :LOL :LOL

Ain't that the truth! I've come to take any small bit that comes my way as positive and hang on to it, because usually there's a truck-load of insults before the next positive one!
