What a fun idea! We had a great day yesterday, in fact I wrote THREE blog posts on it.

We woke up to do a family craft, see photos here:
http://satorismiles.com/2009/02/28/a...th-the-family/

Then went to a local children's museum:
http://satorismiles.com/2009/02/28/satori-in-a-bubble/

At night my daughter was begging to "play school", so we did a Five in a Row lesson using Lentil book.
http://satorismiles.com/2009/02/28/s...-written-word/

I was so proud of my 4 year old to write her very second word without any prompting by me!

Here's our morning. I'll update later today:

7:30 Mom and ds3 (1yo) up. Bathed ds3. Dressed ds3 and changed ds2's diaper. Tried to get ds2 to go potty. Sent dd to get dressed. Woke ds1 up.

8:10 Breakfast for kids. I fed the cat, scooped out the cat box, and then had my own breakfast.

8:30 Ds1 went outside to play in the snow. Mom cleaning kitchen. Little kids playing inside.

9:00 Ds1 came in and had some hot chocolate. Then everyone else needed some too. I did ds1's Bible lesson (Christian Light Education) with him and graded the quiz from it. Then ds1 started his math lesson for today (Christian Light Ed).

9:30 Childcare girl (3yo) arrived. Dd, ds2, ds3 and cg played together while ds1 finished his math and read ch 17 in Story of the World III. I did our budget for March and paid bills. I did a load of dishes and put a load of laundry away.

10:24 Helped the kids clean the playroom for 5 minutes. Made them a snack. Then we watched "Fun Cleaning Tips" from Netflix and the kids ran up and made their beds. I'm totally writing that down as Home Ec. Ds1 finished up his math lesson from earlier. Then he read the first story in New Friends (Pathway readers) and did p. 1-3 in the workbook.

11:45 I put on the Scholastic DVD "Curious George" and the kids watched that while I put ds3 down for a nap and made lunch.

12:10 Kids had lunch.

12:35 Ds1 and dd watched lesson 15 on the Prima Latina DVD.

1:00 Ds1 did p. 72 in the Prima Latina student book. Dd, ds2 and cg drew pictures at the table.

1:40 Helped kids get bundled up to go outside. Ds1, dd, ds2 and cg played out back. Then they came in and had hot chocolate.

2:15 Cg got picked up and our other childcare girl got dropped off. The neighbor kids that live next door and behind us came over to play. I made cookies for the kids.

3:00 The kids all took turns playing skateboarding on Playstation.

So far today each kid has done 2 hours of time4learning. They played outside in the snow. Checked on the chickens and dogs. Made some things with clay. Now they are playing the wii. We'll all watch some tv later and then I'll have them pick out a chapter book to read before bed.

Here was our day today....
I don't pay attention to the clock when we first wake up.
The kids played with Knex while I made breakfast.
Around 10, I set DS2 up on Iknowthat.com (he played a fraction, addition and subtraction game) DS1 and DS3 each did a page in Mathusee. DS3 then moved on to phonics and DS1 practiced adding and dividing fractions and decimals. We did a new lesson of converting fractions to percentage to decimals.
Then set DS3 up on Iknowthat.com to do adding and subtracting.
DS2 worked on multiplication and phonics.
DS1 then worked on a science experiment.
My DH cleaned out the fridge in the AM.
Lunch around 1.
Bike ride and playground.
DS2 and DS3 went outside to read, place value and practice time with Dh. I also worked on greater than less than and even and odd with them.
DS1 worked on fractions, multiplication and division on Iknowthat.com.
Then everyone went outside to play tennis and skateboard.
I made sweet potato bread and tried to organize homeschool books.
Tonight we are going to read a chapter in The Story of the World, History of Math and Betsy and Tacy.
Whew that is a jam packed day!
Tomorrow is field trip day. A science class at the museum and maybe a hike.

I got up around 6:30 to get ready for "work" (I do childcare from home). Right before 7:00, my first childcare kid arrived. I cleaned the house, got the wood stove going and checked email while he watched PBS.

Then ds1 got up around 7:40. He spent about 15 minutes on www.worldmathsday.com participating in their math competition. Then I made breakfast for him and childcare boy #1. After breakfast, ds1 did lesson 6 in CLE math 301.

Ds2, dd and ds3 got up around 8:45. I helped everybody get dressed and got them breakfast. Then ds1 was back to the worldmathsday.com site.

The two sisters I watch on Wednesday mornings and another little boy got here around 9:15. The kids all played together for about ten minutes. Then I cleared the dining room table and got out clay and tools for everyone to play with. While the seven younger kids played with the clay, ds1 and I made brownies together (Home Ec?).

While the brownies cooked, we played Freeze Dance and Musical chairs for about twenty minutes. Childcare Boy #1 went down for a nap at about 10:15, then dd, ds2, ds2, cg1, cg2 and cb3 played together.

At 10:45, the kids all gathered at the table for apple slices, popcorn and those yummy brownies.

The little kids (7 of 'em) all played together after snacktime and ds1 did lesson 12 from CLE Bible 301. Then we all sat in the living room to sing songs and read a couple stories.

Little Amadeus (cartoon about Mozart) was on PBS at 11:30 and they watched that while I made lunch. It was over at 12:00, at which point they all came to the table for lunch.

The two girls I was watching were picked up at 12:30. Childcare Boy #1's mom called and asked if he could stay later. I got all the kids' shoes and jackets on and we went to the library. Each of the kids picked out a couple books and a video or game (our library has video games).

We made it home by 2:20 and cb1 needed to lay down. I looked into going to the Virginia Homeschool Conference www.VaHomeschoolers.org/conference/ and then ds1 got back on www.worldmathsday.com and the other kids played in the playroom.

The kids pretended they were Mary and her little lamb this morning while I made breakfast (and through breakfast and getting dressed and on into the morning until ds decided he was Pippi Longstocking instead, which magically turned dd into Annika). I let them watch a Dora "Rhymes & Riddles" movie after breakfast while I prepped for class.

We headed down to the local Family Wellness Center and had snacks, played with the other kids there, and I taught my monthly French exposure class for toddlers and preschoolers. Today we read a story about growing pumpkins and turning them into pie (great for acting out), learned the Itsy Bitsy Spider in French, sang the ABC song, and conversed a little (sharing our names, saying hello, etc.). We do a lot of fingerplays and things we can act out.

After cleaning up the center, we drove to a local Indian restaurant to meet dh for lunch. Yum, they have a good buffet. DS was still Pippi Longstocking. Then home for stories, nursing ds, and naptime.

I have no idea what we'll do with our afternoon. We might head over to check out the new Aldi's. We might play Memory with the index cards I made up the other day for dd with the uppercase and lowercase letters on them. She's been wanting to learn lowercase letters. I definitely need to vacuum...the kids can take turns helping with their dustbuster.

Here's our blog that shows things we do: http://www.cordovaacademy.blogspot.com/

But our typical day now is different than before. We just began a loop schedule which is on our blog. Even on a day when I was not feeling well my dc still did some "school". I was awesome! :
