A Daycare Anecdote

896 Views 6 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  crazydiamond
Last Friday afternoon, my husband picked up 10MO DS from daycare and was told this story:

During DS's PM nap, his dcp put on her 'face' to go out (planning an evening out w/her hubby). DS had never seen her with full makeup on - when he woke up, he didn't recognize her. DCP said he cried and cried, was inconsolable for probably 1/2 an hour (she tried everything)! Imagine waking up from a nap, you're half asleep and confronted by a 'stranger'. Poor little guy... :-( DH made sure DS gave her extra kisses b/4 they left, she felt terrible!

At least it shows that he likes the 'normal' dcp!!!!

Oh, poor little guy.
She must use a lot of makeup, lol. Who would have thought he wouldn't recognize her? It's sorta sad and sorta funny.

That's what I thought too...I almost titled my post 'A Funny/Sad Daycare Story'.

It's funny what kids recognize about people. DS is fine with me when I have a green clay mask on, but totally gets weirded out if I put on eye liner
Last week, DP shaved off his goatee and our 8 yo ds's didn't even recognize him at first.

I remember going on a sleepover when I was about 6, and not recognizing my friend's mom in the morning at all without her makeup on. Kind of creepy....!

Isn't that the truth!

DD looks at me quizzically whenever I get out of the shower and have my blue towel on my head. She recognizes me, I think anyway, but gives me this strange look like "What's with the blue hair??". LOL

She also doesn't recognize me when I wear my sunglasses, but as soon as I take them off she's A-OK!

Pretty funny!
