Hi, I'm new to the forum, and I'm trying to find, well, any kind of encouragement.
I have had 2 previous c-sections due to transverse presentation. I'm pregnant again and at my first appointment, when my OB said, "Well, you'll be having another c-section", my heart sank and I realized how unwild I am about the idea.
I feel like I have so many challenges to overcome if I am to get my VBA2C.
- I have diabetes, which means that most doctors will not want me to go past 39 weeks, and definitely not over 40 weeks (due to the risk of early placental maturation).
- I have never labored. My first pregnancy, I started having contractions, was only dilated a couple centimeters, and since the baby was breech, I was wisked off to the hospital for a c-section.
- I got pregnant (surprise!) when my 2nd child was only 6 months old. I believe that makes me a little more of a risk for uterine rupture.
- With both of my prior pregnancies, the babies were in the same exact transverse presentation - who's to say this one won't be in the same position? I am hoping and praying that I will finally have a head down baby, but I'm discouraged because of my track record.
I am currently about 10 weeks pregnant, and am already trying to connect with I-CAN and I do have a possible hospital that I will contact and at least have them evaluate me for a VBA2C. I'm just afraid that being diabetic especially puts too big of a kink in the works to even make it possible.
So, any words of encouragement or wisdom are greatly appreciated!
