I'm sorry you're disappointed. How exciting too though. Not long to go now at all and you'll have that bundle in your arms.

I'm sorry things didn't work out the way you had hoped, that's always rough. I hope it goes as well as possible and you're able to have a good recovery as you take care of your sweet little baby.

I am sorry about the planned C-section; disappointment isn't an emotion we usually associate with a baby's birth, so that is tough. I really hope that it goes as smoothly as possible, your recovery is swift, and you feel all (ok, at least most) of that disappointment float away when you hold your baby so soon!

I agree disappointment and birth are hard when they come together. I'm likely looking at a third c/s. I hope all those negative feelings fade when your baby is in your arms. You're doing an amazing thing that takes a lot of strength.

It is bittersweet. I hope that even with the c-section you can have a positive birth and you recover quickly.

I'm sorry you are feeling disappointed. Do you have any special requests of the staff could honor to make it a better experience for you? (lowering the surgical screen to see baby emerge, having your hands free to hold baby, special music played, someone to stay with you in recovery until you can be reunited with baby). These are all things I have written in my just in case c section plan, as I anticipate my vbac in just a few weeks. I wish you as positive an experience as possible. Big hugs

thank you sooo much!! i am getting excited about meeting her and seeing what she looks like. I am so ready for this next faze of our lives.

I have talked to my Dr about what we want, DP will be doing skin to skin as soon as they have her out and looked over and he will bring her to me and we are going to stay together, even in the recovery room. I Am going to wear my gown backwards so I can do skin to skin as soon as I am able. And to nurse. DP really wanted to cut the cord but they said they would leave it long and he could trim it up. We have discussed what will happen if I can't nurse right away or if I have to be separated from the baby for any reason. DP will finger feed her.

I know this is not what I have been thinking would happen. I am just happy that we DO have some choices.

I can't wait to see my newest daughter!! we are taking bets around here as to how much she'll weight. I think 7lbs 2 ounces, lol well see

Our first baby tomorrow! Congrats Corysmilk! I know it's not your original plan, but I am so glad that your doc is willing to work with you and make is as positive an experiece as possible. It sounds like you're being respected and getting a say in your birth and that is so very important. Congrats on your soon to be earthside baby!!! I can't wait to see an update and maybe a pic! :)
