UH yeah... what the heck!??! I offer priority for $4 or $2 for first class I often get jipped because my padded envelopes are like $0.40 each.. but, well I like to see nice round numbers when I e-bay. But, the $0.15 extra for shipping priority is for gas.. and dealing with strapping my 9 month into the car seat TWICE. Hehehe. I figure that's a good labor cost.. but $3.15 for that, no way!

I often round it out too when I do shipping to cover the gas and fees and such... but not the extra $3.00, no.... I was gonna bid, too, until I saw that outrageous shipping cost. I'm thinkin the other person who bid may not have looked at the shipping cost.

I'm guessing this person inflated shipping incase they sell for only a dollar. Why the heck bother starting an auction at 0.99 or $1.00 if you are going to jack up shipping that bad?

I know that you can fit 3 joey's in a priority envelope for $3.85 I've done it and I've had someone ship some to me that way.

Ugh.... I think I would be a non-paying bidder if I missed something like $50 shipping on a diaper!

That's why I always check shipping before bidding though... Inflation can kill the deal.

And yes they would definately all fit in a flat rate envelope... I got three YARDS of PUL in one the other day.

Holy Cow! I usually offer very low shipping or even free sometimes depending on the item.
She has a sm FB that the bidding is at almost $11 and shipping is $7 too! If it goes any higher that person is going to be paying $20 for 1 FB used! Crazy

They do that to avoid the listing fees with ebay. It is against the ebay rules, though, and they can get all of their auctions pulled for it.

Before I read that somebody else already asked why they are charging so much for shipping, I emailed them too with the same question. I'm curious to see what the response will be now.

Maybe I'm just feeling evil and wanting to bug this seller... I just asked them this question:

Hi! I was interested in bidding on some of your items, especially the joey bunz, but wondered why your shipping was so high. These items will ship via priority mail for $3.85, or first class for $1.20. $7 is very high on this auction. Would you be willing to ship cheaper?
Thanks for your time.

~Lindsey

I wonder what they will respond. I won't bid if they don't lower shipping. It's just a matter of principle.

Woah... here is the email I got back from them...

Teri,

These are our shipping and handling costs. It includes not only my post office expenses, but the cost to take the time to stand in line at the post office with a screaming baby in hand and send you the product. If you aren't satisfied, just don't bid.

Jason

Yeah, I won't be purchasing anything from this seller! Holly Moley!

Uh that is bull you can print labels from home and give them to the mailman or drive past a mail box and toss them in. And $3.00 handling is a bit much and the way he responded was a bit terse!

I have only charged .20 or 50 cents if I had to purchase a lot of packing, I still lose on pack materials but I don't feel right passing the whole cost on to buyers, it's a fact of doing business. If I ship priority I don't charge at all.

Good grief... I have a screaming baby too. What about my time it takes to find the time to bid?

ugh. I'll avoid sellers like this... $3 "handling" for every item which they will most likely ship most at the same time meaning they'll get paid extra for every minute they are in that line. Essentially they're just jacking up the shipping to avoid paying ebay fees on it. I sell and that's just insane.
