and not because I fear the doctor will retract my intact son. However, he's had an undescended testicle since birth, and now he is 13 months old and I am sure she will want to refer us to have something done about it. I'm also pretty sure that it's the right thing to do, but I am still anxious. Also, we're not sure how much it'll cost to correct, and although of course we will do whatever my son needs, that causes more anxiety.<br><br>
Can anyone reassure me a little, or toss me links I might not have seen, or tell me your experiences?<br><br>
I hope this is in the right spot, seeing as how it does have to do with my son's (intact) genitalia!

Well all I can tell you is that my partner had an undescended testacle as a baby, and it got repaired and he is fine now!! No harm was done to his reproductive abilities,as our son is proof that everything is working!!!!<br>

There are quite a few stories of undescended testicles in the archives here. Do some searching! From what I remember, there were some tricks about discerning if the testicle was truly undescended or not. These may be tricks the doctor knows too. But again, if I remember right, there was one instance where the doctor had believed that the testicle was undescended but it actually had descended and was usually in a retracted position. I also remember some information about when surgery for an undecended testicle would be appropriate. Good Luck

My brother was about 6 or 7 before that actually were concerned about his testicle not descending...i think you have time..or could you request more time from the doc? Give nature a little more time? Let us know how it goes at the doc.

The doctor gave us a referral to a pediatric urologist, so once we can, we'll go see what he has to say. So, pretty anticlimactic... for now, until we go see this other doctor =)
