I just wanted to share some success with you all. My DD is now 12 months- we've been ECing since 5 months.

Finally, she has started using the "psss" sound and potty sign!

Yesterday after her morning nap, I put her on the potty (easy catch). When I thought she was done, I went to help her off the potty and she stopped me and signed potty and said, "psss" so I left her on the potty. 5 seconds later, she pooped in the potty! I'm impressed that she knew she needed to stay on the potty and told me. It took so long for the communication part of EC to catch on, but we've had a good boon lately.

Thanks all. Of course we still have our misses, but that was such an exciting catch. I even went out and got her training pants- though I think we still need more communication practice before we totally ditch the diapers in public.
