Hi folks. I’ve been lurking for a month or so – this looks like a great place. Thought I’d ask a question.

My mom and I were just talking about diseases and vaccinations and she said “I had whooping cough at 4, your uncle at 2 ½. The biggest trauma for us was that we couldn’t go out and play.” I then quizzed her about other diseases she had – both measles, chicken pox, and mumps. She breastfed me for four months. As a child I had measles (the three day kind) and chickenpox. Is there any chance that my breastfed son has some natural immunities to any of these diseases from me or from my mom? If so, would it mean that he would be less likely to develop the disease or get a more mild case? Just curious. It doesn't affect our vaccination decision.
