Okay, I need some help here...
For the past three or four days, I've been having contractions every 7-10 minutes. They are painful, but I can still walk and talk through them the majority of the time. I don't know if they get less painful or if I am just getting used to the pain.
In checking myself, I seem to be mostly effaced and a soft 2-3. In my past labors (this is my 4th), I go very slowly until 4-5 and then I go VERY quickly after that. I usually hit 5cm and deliver about 15-20 minutes later.
As for due date, my LMP was 2/12/02 (I've been pg and nursing since then, and have no clue as to when I got pg). I had a very early US (got my appendix out...they had to decide between appendix and ectopic) that would put me at 37wks. A later US would put me at 35 wks right now.
Lots of mucousy discharge, some has a pink tinge, some doesn't (probably TMI, but it's a little greenish tinged).
Okay...there's my history, here's my question...
I am having very bad abdominal pain...right at the top of my belly/bottom of my boobs. All the way around, almost exactly where a bra would be if I could wear one that didn't cause excruciating pain. I also have a very sharp stabbing pain over my ribcage on the left side of my back. It's covering the whole left side of my ribcage.
I am hoping very muchly for a UC at home...both just 'cause I want one and because the hospital here is horrible (military hosp). I see a MW on base for care, but she wouldn't be called unless I was ready to deliver. Until then, you can only be seen by residents whose main job is to keep the actual drs from having to be disturbed. These people scare the living daylights out of me, as does this hospital. Unfortunately, I live in a midwife/homebirth unfriendly state, so I'm stuck with this hosp or with a UC. The MW I see is very comfortable with my going UC. We have agreed that I would continue to see her for prenatal care, and I would come in if there were any problems.
So that is my problem...is this pain a problem? Or is this a new normal I've never had in any of my other pregnancies? Unfortunately, you can't just call up there and ask a question, after hours you have to go up to L&D. For me, that will mean lots of poking and prodding and hooking up to machines and staying there for the next 700 years to make sure everything is okay.
I REALLY hate not being able to call and ask a stinking question, so I came here!! Can you help?
