Any pain with urination? Fever? Do you have alot of pain in your mid-back? At this point, from what you have said, I'm strongly thinking a kidney infection. It would be a good idea to get some clarification on this, as a kidney infection can also cause contractions (contractions that don't do a whole lot to the cervix, but they're still there!).

I would definitely call a mw if you can. Does she live close?
